There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Fruit cake for Christmas

Ariel: One day,in Novermber, my mummy, my brother, Atticus and me was making a fruit cake.

Atticus: It was not Christmas time, but it was near Chirstmas. My sister, Ariel, my mother and me made a fruit cake for Christmas.

How to make a fruit cake

1. Get a big metal cake making bowl.

2. Wash the bowl and dry it.

(My little brother was watching me drying the bowl)

3. You need the following:

Plain Flour

Butter

Eggs

Jams

A jar of fruits

These are the flavors for the cake but we are calling them magic potions.

4. We put the butter into the bowl and stirred the butter until it was nice and soft. Then we added in the magic potion.

5. We mixed the flour, baking powder, salts and other magic potion together.

Atticus: I added in the eggs and stirred and stirred. It was massy but quite fun because I always seperate the egg yolk from the egg white. I poked a hole in the egg and turned it around and let the egg white fell out instead of the egg yolk.

Ariel: I was shaking the flour into the fruit cake mixture.

I took the fruit out of the jar and put it into the bowl. Atticus sprinkled the flour onto the fruit. After that, we added to the fruit cake mixture.

Ariel :The most enjoyable part was licking the spoong after making the fruit cake.

Is there ice on the moon?

This is The Lunar Prospector which takes pictures of the moon.

If you look at the picture on the right, you will see the picture that it took.

This is the Lunar South Pole.

This is the moon. I always thought that there was ice on the moon. But one of the internet website says that the moon does not have ice. Because there is no water. Because there is no water vapour to form rain. There is noi water vapour because there is no air on the moon.

Atticus : Click the picture and you can see what this picture means. Click it two times and then you can see it.

It is about the life cycle of a butterfly.

From an egg to a butterfly, and then it will lay eggs again. And once it grow into a butterfly, it will start all over again.

Ariel: A butterfly will lays eggs and the egg will turn into a caterpiller. Then it will turn into a pupa. But the caterpiller he wants to turn into a puap himself. But because he does want to show his own magic, becasue it does not want to show how it turns into a butterfly.

I found this butterfly in the internet. My mother found it for me. I chose the butterfly because it looked nice. But if you think it is a real butterfly, it is not a real butterfly.

Last time, there was a house. There were cats and dogs. They were up on the roof. The roof was made of leaves. Then suddenly it started to rain heavily. All the cats and dogs fell down from the roof. That is why when it is raining heavily, we said it is rainig cats and dogs.

4. Lastly, you put it in boiling water and let it boiled until the balls float.

5. You need someone to watch it when it starts to float.

Ariel: "My brother Atticus, rolled the white dough into a round ball."

Atticus : "I was having fun showing off my balls."

Ariel :"My litlle two years old brother Anicius came along. He wanted the longan which we put in the ball."

NDP Family Day

On the 7th of July,we went to the National Day Parade (NDP) Family Show. Our maid, Aunty Juliet, went along with us. We wore red shirt because our Singapore flag is also red.

A man dressed as a fish was making ballons for everyone.

These are the ballons which the fish man gave us.

This man was acting as if war was coming. If he was pointing at me, I would put my hands up on purpose. The reason why I did not put my hands up taht time was because the sholdiers wern't looking at us.

We saw a helicopter pulling a big Singapore flag. The colour of the flag is red which is above a white part. It has a new moon and fiver stars in the red part.

My mother and I found the meaning of the flag from the web.

The flag consists of two equal horizontal sections, red above white. In the upper left section are a white crescent moon, and five white stars forming a circle. Each feature of the flag has its own distinctive meaning and significance. Red symbolises universal brotherhood and equality of man. White signifies pervading and everlasting purity and virtue. The crescent moon represents a young nation on the ascendant. The five stars stand for the nation's ideals of democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.

I still do not know what it means but my mummy knows what it means. The flag is beautiful.

Quiz Time

1. Is the flag red on top of white or white on top of red ?
2. Does the flag has ten stars or five stars?
3. What do you wear to show that you actually love Singaore when you go to the NDP?
Red or some other colour?
4. What is the colour of the moon, white or black?
5. Is the moon on the flag a new moon or a full moon?

If you have any comments please put send it to us.

This is the end of our quiz and it is design by Atticus.

Learning Journey to a mosquito exhibition

Mosquitoes lay eggs in plain water. The egg will turn into a lava. Soon it will grow into a pupa. Then they will turn into an adult mosquito.

This man was telling us where the mosquitoes lay the eggs in the house.

The man told us that we must pour out the water in the flower pot into the sink.

I was pretending to put the toliet flush. Mummy took a picture of it for fun. I was doing that on purpose.

My mother said that a mosquito has many eyes. She said they are called compound eyes.
If this mosquitoe bites you, you will have a fever. Therefore if it breeds, you will bleed
